Boosted Kiwi - 60mm Electrical Series Manual / Instructions

Wiring Your Gauge / Control Unit Power Source:

  • RED = 12v+
  • WHITE = Illumination (Wire to your headlights or park lights - this is not used for these gauges)
  • YELLOW = 12v+ Ignition Switch
  • BLACK = 12v- (Ground)
  • You can then ‘daisy chain’ the remainder of your gauges using the small double sided plug provided with each gauge. This allows them to sync together and makes installation easy!

NOTE: The ‘control unit plug’ is not used for these gauges so it can be ignored.

Installing & Wiring Your Sensors:

  • Ensure to thread tape any sensors that could leak (Water Temp, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure etc) to help reduce headaches down the line.
  • Wire the sensors to the loom that connects to the top of your gauge.
      • For the Water Temp, Oil Temp, and Oil Pressure sensors, simply wire the same colours together (red to red, and black to black).
      • For boost, just plug the sensor wire straight into the sensor then into the back of your gauge.
  • If you’re using a control box plug the sensor wire into the appropriate port on the control box.
  •

Connecting Your Control Unit & Key:

If you have purchased the control unit and key, your gauge setup is slightly different. Your control unit will supply power to all of the gauges & allow you to customise them easily with the key. It’s also where you will plug all of your sensor wires in.

    1. Wire in your power and ground wires, and connect that into the “DC Source” plug of the control box. This will be used to power the key and all of your gauges.
    2. Plug the daisy chain cable into the “Meter Output” plug on the control box, and then into your first gauge. This will provide power to that gauge and allows you to daisy chain all of your gauges easily. Simply use the supplied daisy chain wires to run extra gauges off each other.
    3. Plug the control key into the “Switch” plug of the control box. This allows you to control all of your gauges at once.
    4. Plug your gauges sensor into the control unit, NOT the gauge. The temperature gauges will use a 2-pin connector instead of a 3-pin connector on the gauge. This will be supplied with your control unit.

Adjusting Gauge Settings (With Control Unit)

The control unit makes setting up and customising your gauges as simple as possible - allowing you to control all of the gauges at once without requiring access to the rear of them.

    Using The Control Key

The control key allows you to customise and view gauge information easily, without having to remove them from their mounts. Refer to the image below to help with setup.

    View Peak Values:

    • Set the side switch to the top location (Real).

    • Press the middle button to display peak levels for all gauges.

    Adjust Gauge Brightness:

    • Set the side switch to the top location (Real).

    • HOLD the left button to decrease brightness or the right button to increase brightness.

Change Opening Ceremony / Startup Sequence

    • Set the side switch to the middle location (Play).
    • HOLD the left button to enter the startup sequence menu.
    • The gauge will begin displaying different startup sequences. Press the middle button and the right button to cycle through the different available ceremonies.

    Changing Colour

    • Set the side switch to the middle location (Play).
    • Press the left button to enter the illumination menu.
    • HOLD the right button to move the needle clockwise and cycle through the colours, or the middle button to move the needle anti-clockwise and cycle through the colours.

    Set Warning Alarms:

    • Set the side switch to the bottom location (Set).
    • Press the left button to cycle through the gauges and select which one you want to adjust. The selected gauge will blink.
    • HOLD the middle button to move the needle anti-clockwise, or the right button to move the needle clockwise.

Adjusting Gauge Settings (Without Control Box)

When setting up your gauge, simply press the button on the back once when it is idle to enter the setup menu. Then, each ‘quick’ press will move you onto the next setting. When you have found the setting you want to adjust, perform a ‘long’ press (hold the button for 5 seconds) to enter that specific setting. Then short press to adjust said setting. When you are done adjusting it, simply don’t press anything for several seconds and the gauge will save and return to idle. Adjust your settings in the order below to ensure proper functionality.

    Setting Peak / Warning Value:

    • From idle: Press the rear button once.
    • The blue ‘peak’ icon will be flashing. HOLD the button to enter this setting.
    • Then, press the button to move the needle to your desired warning / peak value. You can also HOLD the button to move the needle at a faster rate.
    • Once the needle is at your desired level, do not press anything for several seconds, and the gauge will save.

Setting Opening Ceremony / Startup Sequence

    • From idle: Press the rear button twice.
    • The gauge face will turn black and the red light will illuminate. HOLD the button to enter this setting.
    • Then, press the button to cycle through the different available startup sequences.
    • Once the gauge is performing the desired startup sequence, do not press anything for several seconds, and the gauge will save.

    Adjust Colour:

    • From idle: Press the rear button three times.
    • The gauge will begin rapidly changing colours. HOLD the button to enter this setting.
    • Then, press the button to move the needle and change your desired colour. You can also HOLD the button to move the needle at a faster rate.
    • Once the gauge is the colour you would like, do not press anything for several seconds, and the gauge will save.

    Adjust Brightness:

    • From idle: Press the rear button four times.
    • The gauge will begin rapidly darkening and brightening. HOLD the button to enter this setting.
    • Then, press the button to move the needle and change your desired brightness level. You can also HOLD the button to move the needle at a faster rate.
    • Once the gauge is the brightness you would like, do not press anything for several seconds, and the gauge will save.

    Flashing PEAK and WARNING Lights

If the gauges present you with a flashing blue PEAK and red WARNING light at the same time, this means the gauge has detected an issue to the sensor related to that specific gauge. Usually the cause of this is some interrupted or broken wiring somewhere along your path. For example, if your Boost gauge is flashing these, ensure the connection to your boost sensor has not been broken. Test for continuity from the back of the gauge (or control unit) wiring plug and the wiring plug on the appropriate sensor to ensure a strong signal is being made.
